FAQ

Common questions about this topic

What multiplication skills are expected in Ontario Grade 4? By the end of Grade 4, Ontario students are expected to recall all multiplication facts to 10×10 with fluency and extend to 12×12, multiply two- and three-digit numbers by a one-digit number using standard algorithms and mental strategies, and solve multiplication word problems. The Ontario 2020 curriculum also introduces the distributive and associative properties at this level.

How does Paperpath help Grade 4 students build multiplication fluency? Paperpath generates worksheets at your child's current band — Support, Core, or Stretch — based on a short Quick Check assessment. A child still building fact fluency will receive targeted fact-practice pages; a child ready for multi-digit multiplication will receive appropriately challenging questions. The level adjusts as your child progresses.

Should my Grade 4 child know all times tables by now? The Ontario 2020 curriculum expects Grade 4 students to recall multiplication facts to 10×10 and work toward 12×12. If your child is still building fluency, that is normal — consistent short practice sessions of 12–15 minutes on paper are the most effective approach. Paperpath is designed for exactly this kind of routine.
